Hats and Shapes

It's safe to say that I am in a 1970's state of mind with a little bit of a disco influence! This hat is what I have been styling my outfits around lately so you will be seeing it a lot. I went from being a hat hater to a hat lover and wearing them every chance I get.

I picked up this top at a second hand shop. I love the shapes on the fabric and the fact that it is such an easy wear. This was an outfit I wore to pull clothes for the photo shoot. The goal was to look great but practical and comfortable.

Love on the Rocks

So, I'm finally back. I hope you have missed me because I have been missing my blogging buddies. The semester got really crazy, but it was fun and I have definitely found what I want to do...styling!

This semester I took beginning styling with the best instructor ever, Janna Stark. I am incredibly sad to see her go,but I am excited about all that I have learned from her. Our class project was to split up into small groups and produce your own styling photo shoot. Sounds simple right? Yeah, not really! There is so much detail that goes into styling it's crazy and that's not even talking about the dynamics of working in a group!

Our project was Mick and Bianca. We wanted to take their icons 1970s style and relationship and make it modern. Though their relationship was rocky no couple looked as good as they did. Below are our wonderful photos! I want to say a special thanks to my group members, our lovely models, the hair and makeup girls, the W Hotel, Gimme Shoes, ACT Costume Department, and most of all our wonderful photographer Jason Mehrtens!
